A new day in the life of a snapper

This weekend I had the pleasure of second shooting for MHP at the Chevin Lodge Hotel.

What a fantastic venue and very helpful staff.

The day didn't start off so well though, my journey began with a car crash when someone ran into the back of me at a roundabout, this could have set the mood for the day, However there was no damage to either car so on with the day.

On arriving at the lodge I set to work shooting the room layout capturing the details needed for a story book album.

I like to arrive early so that I can ease myself into the day with some fairly easy no stress attached photos before meeting the wedding party and really getting down to the hard work of the day.

The wedding ceremony went well with good audience participation which made for some interesting photos from my vantage point above the crowds.

After the ceremony the wedding party moved outside for drinks and a colossal group list to get through (good job I had my trusty 1st shooter with me ha ha).

My job for the day was to collect as much reportage images as I could while the lead photographer delt with THE LIST.

The groom delivered the best heart felt speech I've ever heard and I've heard a few lol.

This is the END

Well thats it I have finished my BA(Hons) I just have to wait to see how I did.
I'm feeling pretty good about it all, however there is always room for improvement as the saying goes.
There are a number of things I would have done differently as usual, but I would do it all again tomorrow it was that much fun. (NOT)
I'm sorry it's over but excited for the future, I'm now a professional photographer, living my dream, doing what makes me happy and along the way taking pictures that I hope move people.

Tuesday, 21 April 2009

Well blog followers it has been a very busy week so far.
At the weekend I had a wedding to shoot. it went very well and I'm pleased with the results of my labour, the bride and groom have jetted of on honeymoon and won't be back for a week so no feed back from them till then.
On monday I had to hand in my Pro Practice uni work and on Tuesday I had to actively participate in my peers learning by giving my first seminar. I must say I've never been so nervous in my life, I found it quite funny that I can stand up in front of large crowds and take photographs, manipulate people into groups and take control of photographic situations when called on to do so, but I go to pieces when discussing my uni work in front of 6 people that I have known for the last 3 years ( is that irony?)
Anyway I performed very well and got a good score.

Must get back to all my uni work, till next time

stay safe and don't forget to, Stop, Look around and Enjoy life every once in a while
